London Burning… Birmingham Too…
Only 4 months ago I was proud to be British and celebrating all the pomp and ceremony of a royal wedding. Now I cannot be more ashamed. Last summer the mindless students and gangs infiltrating the students ran London to its knees, now in 2011, our so called civilised society is again being put to shame by riots in London and Birmingham. Why? They claim it is to avenge the death of an innocent man, a man I shall not name purely because I do not want his name linked with this mindless violence. The real reason no one knows. For some it is for kicks, others want the free TV hanging on Ladbrokes wall and for the rest? Maybe an IQ of 5 who knows.
Norway last month joined together in times of tragedy, the Scandinavian country showed real unity. In Britain the ‘Big Society’ has shown how it is fragmented, disrespectful and nowhere near the social levels shown by our better neighbours.
No words can describe how those innocent people must be feeling having seen their lives go up in flames. No words can describe how courageous the emergency services have been tonight. More importantly no words can describe how appallingly late the response of the British government has been, no words can describe how mindless those causing havoc are and no words can describe the long lasting damage tonight will cause.
I have seen various links posted on Twitter of Nick Clegg proclaiming that if the Conservatives get in then the rioting will return, at least the spineless deputy got one thing right.
